Day 2 Darby to Wisdom, MT

Another Great Day on the Bike Trip!  Yesterday we did 76 Miles and today we did another 56!  It might seem like we should be in good shape since we did 21 less miles, however we climbed 3200 feet over the course of 13 miles!  The name of this CRAZY  Road is Chief Joseph Pass!  However we are all proud that we did it!

We started by leaving Chief Joseph Ranch with a wonderful breakfast in our bellies...We biked into Sula where we saw the Lewis and Clark expedition Trail.  The explorers spent two nights in this area during their famous trek.  Then we hit the 13 miles to the top of Chief Joseph Pass...All of us also stepped into the State of Idaho at this juncture.  From here after lots of pictures around the Chief Joseph Pass Sign we took off on a nice downhill to the Big Hole Battlefield.  This is where a famous battle between the US Army and the Nez Perce tribe took place.  To me the most beautiful part of the area was there were snow covered mountains all around in a panoramic view!  We actually sat down and watched a 26 minute movie about the battle.

Finally we had a nice 10 mile stroll into the place we all need to visit...Wisdom.  This is what Chuck had when he asked Lisa to marry him 30 years ago...however I don't know what happened after that.  But I think Tommy feels the same way about his decision with Diane, myself about Christine, Phillip about Marty, and all of the other blokes with us. Wisdom is a quaint little town of 113 people with two restaurants, two small hotels, a country store, post office, and Conovers Trading Post.  Looking forward to a good nights sleep and ready to conquer the ride to Dillon tomorrow.
