Another great Montana Day! Today started off a bit cooler…We rode pretty much straight for 26 miles into a small town called Twin Bridges. The highlight of this path was a formation called Beaverhead Rock, which you will see below. There also was a good bit of 18 wheeler traffic on this road which made the riding a little tough. I believe Phillip did a little “off roading” even when he went slightly off the beaten path. However he quickly regained balance and got back on his way.
While in Twin Bridges we meet some girls having a lemonade stand to raise money to send them to California for a school trip. After we gave them some money for their lemonade, we went in the coffee shop they were outside of and the barista mentioned they are going to put him out of business!
We continued on through the towns of Sheridan and Laurie. Both quaint little Montana towns with beautiful views of the mountains off in the distance. Sometime at this point, Chuck got the nickname “Tow Chuck”. Simon was cycling behind him and had a hold of Chuck’s Fanny Pack…Chuck had no idea why he was going so slow until he turned around and saw what Simon was doing! It was quite funny…frankly because I didn’t think Chuck could go any slower!
Finally, we got to the highlight of our day and drove through Nevada City and into Virginia City where we are staying the night. Both are beautiful old Western Towns that have much the same feel of 1860. Horses are roped where cars are parked and the Saloons have swinging doors! Very fun towns and we have enjoyed being here. The weather was great except a shower after we got into town.
Besides sore butts and sore legs the trip has been a success. Looking forward to going to West Yellowstone tomorrow and into Yellowstone following that…I WANT TO SEE A BEAR!!!
Sheep with green spots on them...I saw this in Scotland too!

Probably the most beautiful picture I have seen...look at the reflection in the pond!
Amazing that a couple of weeks ago the water in these streams was snow!
